STIXE won't start
« on: December 31, 2010, 05:54:46 AM »

Hi, tried to start my St9-e (stixe) today.

I'd left the battery on charge for the last few weeks, so the battery is fine.

It turned over fine, but didn't start.

I tried again but nothing happened.

The lights came up on the display but nothing, no noises.

Has the starter switch gone or a fuse perhaps.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Scott, thanks for your replies.

There is no clicking, nothing at all.

Where is the main fuse located, i'll try that ?

If not, I live in Fulwell, Sunderland, if you could help.

Thanks

I replaced the stock batteries with better brand and I have not had starting issues anymore.

The stock batteries are not the best but as in the case of all motorcycle batteries they are not that good and need to be changed regularly.

Trusting that just because you charged it the ATV should start and battery will have a full charge is not always so.  Test the charge level volts and AMPS, if you cannot try to start battery alone and if it still does not start try jump start from another running vehicle, if it starts then it is a good indicator your battery is toast.

for some reason my 2 ATV's seem to be eating starting solenoids.  About every 8-10th time they are used I have to put a new solenoid in them.
And it is not like I can recondition the old ones too so I would love to figure this out since $40 a pop is getting annoying.

Sounds to me as though you are dragging too much current. It might be interesting to see how many amps you are drawing.  Sorry I can't be of any more help at the moment, I need to think about that one.

Cheers Johnny  ;D
