Title: Commuter bike?
Post by: olds_cool63 on June 11, 2013, 09:00:43 AM
Hey, y'all.

I'm new here and I'm looking for a commuter dual sport. I already have a "play" bike...a 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200 S.

I like the Shineray 250's.

It would not see much dirt action, just mostly commuting.

Can anyone share their experience good or bad?

What's the quality like? MPG?

Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Nuff said.

Hi, I am seriously considering the X2 bike. All indications point to it being a capable entry level dirt bike. With that being said my hesitation is two fold: No fuel injection, and no 400cc. In comparison to the 250cc Honda, Kawasaki, etc. the X2 is down on power by about 10 hp. I took a close look at the bike a few days ago and thought it to be well made. The welds on the swing arm were uniform and looked like a stack of nickels as they should.

Fuel injection is good to have. But I'd take a carb bike with good throttle response over FI. I like to ride tight stuff / trees though. How's the throttle response?

I am looking for an inexpensive bike for commuting.  Something that will not fall apart and isnt too heavy.  :-
